Square Knot Quilt

Made from blues and yellows from stash, the block pattern had been calling to me for a time. It was easy enough to make, just lots of pieces for each 8 inch block.

My initial idea was to make alternating blue or yellow blocks, but the yellows seemed dull. I then concentrated on blue blocks for a bit. I ended up using 6 of the 8 yellow blocks with 2 on the back.

The quilt is quilted in an all over meander but I tried a pattern in the border.

I can't quite get the technique for ruler FMQ, so I trace the template and slow the machine speed and draw the pattern with thread.

It's a generous 48 by 52 inches.

Inspired by a Missouri Star Quilt tutorial Square Knot.
