45 Day Sobriety Chip

A brave friend of mine started her personal quest for sobriety and opened up to her friends at her 30 day mark, when she earned her 30 day coin.

On day 45 she mused that she wished she had a 45 day chip ....

I love the little Ohio Star Block in the tutorial: https://youtu.be/Dh6K4zUnfw8?si=YCmkOezCCFSwEMxF

Congratulations my dear Cat. I am so proud of you!

Happy Jacob's Ladder

I made this one with slightly smaller blocks. More feminine. Light and happy fabrics then set in an around the world setting.

I have a friend from my early NICU days who is a powerhouse and genuinely kind person. Last year she fought breast cancer and us now in remission. She j6st let us know as she preferred privacy fir the vicious part of her battle.

I made this quilt to cheer and celebrate her triumphs.

Quilted on the Jazz2 with prewound bobbins it won't pretty fast. The body is a swirl meander. The borders were done on the Juki with serpentine lines surrounded by wavy lines.

Backed with pretty neutrals and the batting a 20 80 poly cotton.

Baby Woodland Creatures

Inspired by a printed panel of 8 critters blocks in soft neutral colors matched with similar fabric colors patchworked into quarter square triangle blocks. I set them in a circle of nine pattern (except there are only 8 blocks) and free motion meandered quilting.

A generous 44x51 for a crib or toddler bed.

Jacobs Ladder for Erika

I am inspired by a nurse I met many years ago who took a travel assignment with us for a season. We stayed in touch over Face, and I was able to share her growing career and education as well as her meeting her life partner and recently marrying him. She watched me become a GrandNanny and retire. We both consoled one another over losing beloved family and laughed at each other's pet's antics.

She is just finishing her Doctorate in Nursing and it's high time I made her a quilt!

A traditional Jacob's Ladder quilt to symbolize her climb. Congratulations Dear Erika!

Woodland Creatures Cross Quilt

Made for a very special couple to celebrate their first child.  They are expecting a baby girl!  I used a charm pack and cut each charm in half, sewed in a 11/4 inch strip, then turned it and cut again.  Sometimes I cut right down the center, sometimes the 2 pieces were 2 and 3 inch split, or any variation with division increasing by 1/4 inch segments.

The fabric charms are little woodland critters, per mother's request.  Little owls and foxes and such.  Quilted by machine in a free motion meandering pattern and bordered with a sweet white on white, this quilt is ready to welcome baby girl!
