Little Sail Boats

While practicing the sail boats blocks, I made this quilt from scraps around the sewing room. I ended up not liking it too much because of the lack of contrast. It's still a cute idea, has some unique fabrics, so I finished it up and here it is!

The sailboat block was inspired by a Missouri Star quilt tutorial, the sails are a charm pack, and the border was a give-away fabric from a nursing friend Susan Azarian.

Fishies One Patch

This little baby sized cutie was made from the leftover charms and blocks of a quilt I made for Baby Ezekiel (2014 A Year Of Quilts) just leaving the alternate blocks white and making a simple border.

Could this be any simpler?

After finding the original summer quilt; I sold this one on etsy.

Pop Star Quilt to Jacket!

I made a small quilt using a Jenny Doan tutorial using the binding tool..... used up some bright scraps and made a 1 star quilt. It was cute but I offered it for sale, it was purchased by a woman who upcycles quilts into jackets.

A few months later Sandy surprised me by gifting me the unique quilt made into coat!  This quilt had some sentimental fabrics in it.... a Y2K fabric (Miranda's birth year) some emojis that were worn by Ezekiel on his masks and his "boring bags", a bag of toys to carry places.  Also some peace signs from a quilt I made for myself. So, now I get to WEAR my sentimental fabrics!

Churn Dashes Quilt

This is a sweet lap quilt made from a charm pack or oranges and greens. The backgrounds are a pair of grey/white neutral, one for the background of each block and one for the sashing. They are then set in rows with a 1" offset just to help define each block. My original thought was a wedding quilt for my niece until I made another quilt that I KNEW was the perfect quilt for her. So this became a quilt I can sell or gift.  Each block is made by making 4 HST's from a pair of charms (neutral and colored) and then the centers were cut from assorted greens or yellows.

Pretty Baby Geese

With subtle shades of pink and peach and a charm pack this sweet little collums of flying geese happened over a week's pleasure sewing.

Update: SOLD

Mississippi Mud Queen

This quilt was a LONG time in the waiting to be made.  I purchased the fabrics wa-a-ay back in 1999 or so to make a quilt for my over-the-top fun young nurse friend Darlene. Who was from Mississippi and sounded like it!  The design was sketched out using electric-quilt and printed, and stored in the bag with the fabrics. Darlene moved back home and the planned quilt languished.....

Fast Forward 2021. I am retired. Looking for my next project.....

Found the fabrics, finished the quilt and mailed it off to my old friend!
