Baby Quilts for Twins

A new mom's first pregnancy was for twin girls! She selected the color "mint" for her decor.  I had started a pink quilt, but ended up really not liking it, so I was looking for a new idea when she told me her colors.  These were scraps from another project, and I always like geese units!  I had to buy the light peach, but the rest was completed from "stash."
Finished just in the nick of time, before they came home.  Congratulations!

A Quilt for Hot Wheels

Oh, my Grandson Zeke LOVES his Hot Wheels, at age 2, they are in his little hands and driving all over.  So when I saw this collection of panels, I was fascinated!  I had often thought of creating a quilt to dive little cars on, but someone else already did it!   There were 5 panels to choose from; I got RACEWAY, AROUND TOWN, and CONSTRUCTION SITE.  There was also a harbor and an airport.  I backed it with flannel (to make it less likely to move around on the floor while playing on it!) and put a thin 100% cotton batting.  The quilting was done diagonally only, about every 6 inches, to decrease unusual bumps along the way.

Big Sister Quilt

This week, I will have the joy of attending another adoption into our extended family, as the Hayden-Roberts finalize the adoption of Janelle into their family of four children.  Janelle is the oldest, and has watched as her brother's adoption was finalized, and wished and hoped for the day she would be legally adopted into her Forever Family.

The shapes and fabrics match the pieces of her little sister Francie's Big Girl Quilt, another thing tying these two together for ever.
