Bold Rail Fence Quilt

This classic was inspired by Missouri Star tutorial

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PVIYk-2Ie8

I even used the border blocks idea with leftovers as the tutorial suggested.

I put this bold lap quilt together with 2 1/2 inch strips cut from Anaheim M & L fabric strips. I quilted the borders densely and the body of the quilt much less dense.

This was the project where my new Jazz2 started to behave (I figured it out) and I quilted it start to finish over 2 days.

Up for sale on Etsy.

Ezekiel's Cozy Quilt

I made this quilt from a pile of miscellaneous scraps given to me by my friend Sharon when she cleaned out her sewing room. They were varous sizes of scraps, from Mikey Mouse, to Spiderman, from Hulk to Captain America.

I combined each color to a solid and made a random number of blocks, depending on how much fabric I had of each design.

I saw I coul make an around the world pattern, and had enough blocks and bits to widen the back!

He loves it......

To make this quilt cozy, I backed it with a piece of flannel I had bought at Joann's after Christmas. It features tiny skeleton dinosaurs with Christmas hats! I then free motion quilted a meandar over a thin, poly bat.

The final scraps were JUST enough to make a pillowcase!

Autograph Quilt

As my friend packs up a lifetime in So. Cali and readies to move her family to Wyoming, we know we will miss her smile and professional expertise.  A Lot.

A rail fence seemed appropriate to the new locale, and gave plenty of space to pen love, wishes and memories.

Dr. Seuss Good Wishes Quilt

This quilt is a very simple rail fence, with a Dr. Seuss themed fabric collection set with pain white bars.  It made it's way around the crowd at the Baby Shower and beyond, so it could be filled with the love and good wishes of all this baby's family and friends. Signed with permanent markers, it will forever be a reminder that his arrival is cause for great celebration!  We can't wait to meet you. Benny!

Jackie & Martin's Wedding Quilts

My very sweet young friend married her best friend.  I wanted to make a special set of quilts for her and her husband.  She had requested the batiks, rail fence, large enough to snuggle and a pair!  Actually pretty specific.  In any case, I had a lot of fun shopping for the colors, mixing them up, adding the applique to hers, and putting them together.  The little pillow is for the rings at the wedding, they were attached and passed around so all the guests could warm them and fill them with good wishes and blessings.

Batik Rail Fences

Super simple rail fence blocks, placed on point for a husband and wife.  With the feminine one, I decided to group similar colored blocks, and for the masculine one I randomized the blocks.  A few of "his" strips made it into her quilt and vice versa. The masculine blocks were a bit larger, so the quilt turned out larger.
