Migrating Geese Twin Baby Quilts

A friend is expecting twins!  A boy and a girl. She requested some quilts that were "twin" themed.  I had 2 beautiful charm packs in stash that really filled that request very nicely.  I coupled it with 10 4 1/4" strips of white/grey cut into blocks to make these quilts. There are pleanty of these migrating geese blocks left over, so I made a little diaper carrying wallet with both sets of colors.

There are 7 columns of 20 geese units. One column they fly north and the next they fly south. Each quilt is primarily "blue" or "pink" while incorporating 4 blocks of the other color to remind them of their life together in the womb.

Virgen De Guadalupe Quilt

The fabric I found in my favorite Anaheim Warehouse spoke to me. In fact it shouted to me, Buy Me! Make Me! So, I did, and it sat in stash for several years.

I went into stash and pulled out a few random other things, like these "milagros" to give it a little variety. I used mainly 4 colors for the square in a square setting, a red, green, blue and yellow small patterns. Quilted along the seam lines, with a nice cotton batting, here they are!

It is a generous lap sized quilt. The binding is strips cut from the squares.

Peace Out: A Quilt for Myself

I was inspired by a quilt tutorial online and a collection of unique peace-signs and sixties psychedelic fabrics to make a cuddle quilt just for me!  Set on a black background, with a polyester batting, and the back another in theme fabric, it's so ME and I love it.

Baby Geese in Green

I have made a few quilts from this green vehicles collection of fabrics. They are really cute, non traditional and just CUTE!

So, traditional flying geese, set in columns, and made just because.

Little Sail Boats

While practicing the sail boats blocks, I made this quilt from scraps around the sewing room. I ended up not liking it too much because of the lack of contrast. It's still a cute idea, has some unique fabrics, so I finished it up and here it is!

The sailboat block was inspired by a Missouri Star quilt tutorial, the sails are a charm pack, and the border was a give-away fabric from a nursing friend Susan Azarian.

Fishies One Patch

This little baby sized cutie was made from the leftover charms and blocks of a quilt I made for Baby Ezekiel (2014 A Year Of Quilts) just leaving the alternate blocks white and making a simple border.

Could this be any simpler?

After finding the original summer quilt; I sold this one on etsy.

Pop Star Quilt to Jacket!

I made a small quilt using a Jenny Doan tutorial using the binding tool..... used up some bright scraps and made a 1 star quilt. It was cute but I offered it for sale, it was purchased by a woman who upcycles quilts into jackets.

A few months later Sandy surprised me by gifting me the unique quilt made into coat!  This quilt had some sentimental fabrics in it.... a Y2K fabric (Miranda's birth year) some emojis that were worn by Ezekiel on his masks and his "boring bags", a bag of toys to carry places.  Also some peace signs from a quilt I made for myself. So, now I get to WEAR my sentimental fabrics!
