Quilts for Twins!
A new family has been created and this joy calls for the creation of twin quilts! Two little boys, born to a very athletic family that enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities. Biking, camping, hiking, and playing with their dogs are all part of the fun that await these two boys.
The quilts are each made with a charm pack of bright solids, and share the same background "water" fabric as well as sharks in the borders. I have made both patterns before, they are both fun quilts to make.

Yellow Rail Road
A pretty charm pack, some blue and yellow with pink binding, this little baby quilt came together quickly and easily, and so pretty as well!
The charms were cut in half and reattached in a rail fence patch, resulting in a 4 1/2" by 5" block. The center block was a 5" square, while the edge block were 4 1/2 by 4 1/2. A tiny setting sash cut 1" only frames these blocks nicely.

Coral Seas Baby Quilt
The fabric in this charm pack called me with their colors and their under the sea designs. I used a pattern I have used several times before, all the blocks are the same design and measurements in this quilt. A pale aqua border and quilting along the blocks finished this baby quilt for an as yet undecided recipient.

Dollar Quilt Jacobs Ladder
I love a bargain, don't we all? Scrap quilts are often that, made from leftovers, orphans, donated fabrics and GoodWill treasures! I found the blacks and reds for this manly treasure by searching Facebook marketplace for "Quilting Fabrics." I found a small square dancing manufacturer in my own neighborhood, right by my Credit union, that sold 10 pound bags of fabric for $1 each. Umm Hmm.

Add to that a Missouri Star Jacobs Ladder made from 5" charms I cut from the scraps (I made half with dark centers, half with light centers) and there it is!

The backing is another treasure I found on sale after Thanksgiving at JoAnn fabric for $1.49 a yard. It's a white with black and red ditsies. I used about 2 1/2 yards.

Just Squares Kaffe Fassett Fabric Collection
This one is just for me!
I LOVELOVELOVE this charm pack, bright, orange and pink, bold designs, by designer Kaffe Fassett. The quilt features the charm squares only, no distraction by design or stitching.

Memorial Baby Quilt for Alden
This quilt is small and simple. We brought it out at the memorial to baby Alden and asked guests to sign it with sentiments. It was then gifted to the baby's father, my son Benigno, to keep the warm wishes.
