Birthday Panel Quilt
Found this great panel of powerful girls at my favorite Anaheim Fabric Warehouse. Just in time for Kendall's 5th birthday! There were 8 panels, so I added a 9th, center panel of pink HST's to make it even. I added a lightweight cotton batting, and backed it with rainbow horses flannel, so it's nice and cozy!

Dramatic Baby Tumbler Quilt
I made 2 tumbler quilts at the same time, for the second sons of two different friends. This one is dramatic, bright, not traditionally baby colors, and the setting is also unusual, the tumblers set into columns, and balanced one on top of the other. I used a black and white charm pack (with a few black and white squares left over from other projects) and a little over a yard of red cotton. I discovered my Wal Mart has 100% cotton solids for $3 a yard. I have washed it, and it's color fast. Who Knew?
This one is also stitched in the ditch.

Sporty Tumbler Quilt
For a friend's second child, and second boy, I chose a tumbler pattern. I love this pattern, there is so much variety in settings, color, placement. I started with a sports themed charm pack. I used this same charm pack in another baby quilt recently and wanted to use the same colors but make this look totally different. I used a near solid blue sparingly, then more intensively to give it a modern look.
Simply machine quilted in the ditches.

Sister's Choice Quilt for Baby
I made this baby quilt out of 4 leftover blocks from the quilt I made for my Mother-In-Law's birthday quilt. I had 4 blocks and a few scraps and partial block pieces, exactly enough to make this sweet white muslin quilt. I love white muslin. It's so soft when washed, with a little texture. So white. Imperfect. It shrinks nicely, giving my quilts that rumply feeling I love.

ABC Quilt (Square in a Square and Geese)
Zeke is two and a half, and is beginning to love ABC books read out loud. Time for an Alphabet Quilt! Went out to the stash, I knew I had several, (and I do!) but the one I found right on top was the perfect fabric! I bought it..... some time ago. Probably before being a Grandma!
The alphas were all little Richard Scarry drawings, many of them little silly vehicles, and characters from his books. I cut them all to a 4 1/2 inch square, then took a charm square, cut it diagonally in quarters, and made a simple square in a square.
The geese were charm squares cut to two 4 /12" by 2 1/2 rectangles, with 2 1/2 " squares used to make the geese points.
Warm and White inside gives this one a little firmer texture, since I will hang it on the wall primarily, in the dining room, so we can look at it and discuss it often!

Sister's Choice for Mother's Day
I do love this pattern! Fun, made with two and a half inch strips (jelly rolls) and so much color variety ability in each of the blocks!
Made this one for my former Mother In Law, for Mother's Day and her 86th birthday. What a role model of Motherhood! Thirteen children of her own, oodles of grandchildren, piles of great grands! I love that, though I divorced her son over 30 years ago, I am always a welcome member of the family.
Pale, low volume prints and white. Soft, 100% cotton batting. Machine quilted in a 2" grid.

Jacob's Ladder As Well Quilt
After finishing my Jacob's Ladder lap quilt with 8" blocks, restricted to only two colors and fabrics, and straight setting, I was inspired to try it again, but differently!
This one has 4" blocks. I used 2 charm packs, a mixture of off white/cream colored prints to contrast with some darker, older looking small prints. Each set of 2 charms completed 2 blocks.
Then I set them with the blocks making a circle out of the design.
Looks absolutely different!
