Finished today but pieced sometime last year from pure leftovers and scraps. The only requirement to make it into this quilt was dark and light had to contrast in each block. Some of the fabrics are novelty, some of them are batiks, some of them are children's designs, or Christmas, or even Easter. Even the binding was pieced entirely out of scraps from my binding scrap box.

Bow Ties Quilt
The very traditional bow ties quilt is always a fun one for me to make. I decided to make this one in colors suitable for a man. It's a lap size quilt with a fluffy 80/20 batting. Each bow tie is cut from one charm with a half of a neutral charm for the background. After putting it together I realized it wasn't as large as I wanted it to be so I searched my stash and found this fabric that is perfect for the 3 inch border.

Handy Andy Scrap Quilt
A lazy summer scrap quilt. Each 2 block sets used 2 contrasting jelly roll strips paired with 2 neutral, matching strips. As with all the pattern tutorials by Jenny Doan at Missouri Star Quilts, there are easy short cuts and piecing tricks. I started making 1 block, well, okay, 2 blocks just to test the technique. Oh! That was easy.... OK, how about 9? No, an even number.... Before I knew it I had 20 blocks! A quilt!
Looks pretty in the sunshine!

Southwestern Wedding Quilt for Kaity and Eric
Made from a jellyroll of muted mottled dark colors, this delectable mountains quilt was finished before I realized it was perfect for my niece's wedding. Postponed for a year due to the Pandemic, it was fast approaching. I had made a quilt in orange and green for them BUT when I saw this one completed, I KNEW this was the one for them!

Pride Quilt 2021
I was finishing a quilt recently that I had started a few years ago and decided to finish for my friend Laketa. But it wasn't talking to me. I was a little bothered, because I liked the quilt and all but it just wasn't LAKETA. While quilting it, I received a text from another old friend Mauricio, randomly sending me a photo of a quilt he had seen at a PRIDE event... BOOM! This quilt told me it was Mauricio's quilt....
Isn't it amazing how a project will SPEAK and tell you where it belongs!

My cousin Patti's husband LOVES Las Vegas. Always has, always will! So this year, when I learned he will he getting a knee replacement I started thinking about a healing quilt. I have made quilts for Patti, for their 3 daughters, but never one just for Alex! So..... Planning.
